Hello Friends!

The October Bluegrass Night was a great evening featuring some wonderful music from Jack Martin and Good Company, as well as Bustin’ Grass.  It was great to hear Jack Martin’s excellent Dobro work and his fine band.  I really enjoyed playing banjo with the Colliers, Tim Dishman and Greg Blaylock, and I hope they’ll all come back and play for us again when they can.

November 3rd will feature sets from Jargon and Bluegrass Review.  Bluegrass Review is the group comprised of Rick and Janice Lambert, Ron Barnett, and Max Davidson.  I will be doing my best to fill in for Max on banjo.  Please keep Max’s wife, Jane, in your thoughts and prayers as she battles cancer.  Looking forward to hearing from these groups again and it should be an entertaining night of music.

I have confirmed our December bands, so Friday, December 1st will feature music from Don Goff & Rising Son and The McKendrees.  Returning to the Kentucky Opry Friday, January 5th will be Cotton Ridge from Sikeston, Missouri.  If you were around back in November 2016, you’ll remember this being the group that brought the Lambert’s rolls and tossed them into the crowd.  We’re looking forward to their return and will be working to confirm a second band for January.

Don’t forget that the Roots 8 Music Concert is coming up November 14th at Lovett Auditorium in Murray, KY.  This event will feature music from Jim Hurst, The Wheelhouse Rousters and Corrina Rose Logston & Jeremy Stephens.  The free show begins at 7:30pm and canned goods are requested to benefit the Calloway County Need Line.

See you all at the Kentucky Opry on November 3rd!

Jason McKendree, JPFOB President
